Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 41-year-old Clarence Lamont Bryant of Buffalo has been arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Susan Maxwell Barnes on one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A-1” felony, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” violent felony.

It is alleged that on November 15, 2019, at approximately 8:40 a.m., the defendant shot his ex-girlfriend, 23-year-old Lekeeta Holloman, in the vicinity of Prospect Avenue and Maryland Street in the City of Buffalo. The victim was taken by ambulance to ECMC where she died from her injuries.

Bryant was remanded without bail. A return court date has not been scheduled at this time.

DA Flynn commends Detective Anthony Lapiana of the Buffalo Police Department for his work in the investigation as well as the U.S. Marshals Violent Felony Task Force who located the defendant.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ashley M. Morgan of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
