Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Mark Dublino of Cheektowaga has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice John L. Michalski on an indictment charging him with one count of Assault in the Second Degree and one count of Attempted Assault in the Second Degree.
On Friday, March 9, 2018, the defendant allegedly attacked his defense attorney during a meeting inside the Erie County Holding Center.
Dublino is scheduled to return on Monday, July 30 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. He remains remanded without bail.
If convicted on all charges, Dublino faces a maximum of 7 years.
“The defendant is accused of attacking his attorney while being given legal advice, which is completely unacceptable,” said DA Flynn. “I will continue to prosecute those who initiate violence at the Holding Center or other jails in Erie County.”
Assistant District Attorney Diane Meldrim of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau is prosecuting the case.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
