Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a jury has found 36-year-old Leron Bailey of Buffalo guilty of one count of Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

On June 24, 2013, Bailey fired multiple shots into a vehicle parked at the corner of Stevens Avenue and East Ferry Street in Buffalo, striking a man in the chest and a woman in the heart.

The man, who was the intended target of the shooting, received medical treatment and recovered, but 20-year-old Diamond Toler of Buffalo who was in the backseat of the car was killed.

Bailey faces 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns on Tuesday, March 6.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad for their investigative work, including Detective Antonio Borrelli and Salvatore Valvo, former detective and Confidential Criminal Investigator with the DA’s Office.

Assistant District Attorneys Eugene T. Partridge III and Louis C. Mussari of the DA’s Homicide Bureau prosecuted the case.
