Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a jury has found 28-year-old Keenen M. LaValley of Buffalo guilty of two counts of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class “D” felonies) and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (Class “A” misdemeanor). The jury rendered their verdict yesterday afternoon after nearly two days of deliberations following a 4.5-day trial.

The defendant sexually abused the child victims on numerous occasions between June 1, 2010 and September 1, 2017. The victims were 13-years-old or younger when the incidents occurred at a location in the City of Buffalo.

LaValley faces a maximum of 14 years in prison when he is sentenced on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. He was held without bail.

DA Flynn commends retired Detective Julie Ledwin of the Buffalo Police Department Special Victims Unit for her work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys Rebecca L. Schnirel and Justin H. Caldwell of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
