Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a jury has found 41-year-old Rasheed Clanton of Buffalo GUILTY of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and three counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree. 

The panel deliberated for about three hours before convicting Clanton during his five day trial before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case. 

On October 21, 2015, Buffalo police, responding to a dogfighting incident at the defendant’s home at 191 Scoville in Buffalo, spotted a bag of heroin nearby. A search warrant at that address turned up the drug paraphernalia. 

Clanton faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced by Judge Case on December 22, 2017 at 9:30 a.m.
