Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 47-year-old Kendyce Rupe of Buffalo pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to one count of Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, a Class “D” felony, and one count of Falsifying Business Records in the First Degree, a Class “E” felony.

The defendant admitted that between April 2018 and May 2019, she stole $53,570.15 while working as a manager for Respiratory Services of Western New York, Inc. at their Depew location. In addition to stealing cash, the defendant altered customers’ personal checks that she deposited into her own bank account. In an effort to avoid detection by her employer, the defendant filed falsified bank deposit tickets for the customer checks. 

Rupe faces a maximum of 7 years in prison when she is sentenced on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. She was released on her own recognizance.

 The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Brian Dassero of the DA’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Unit.
