Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Kenneth Jefferson of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class “B” felony.

On February 6, 2018, Amherst Police narcotics officers executed a search warrant at a motel room on Maple Road. Once inside, officers found 136 bags of fentanyl, packaged to sell, inside the TV stand. The defendant, who was found asleep in the bed, admitted to owning the drugs and confirmed the motel room was rented in his name.

Jefferson also pleaded guilty to an unrelated charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a class “C” felony. This charge arose from a traffic stop in the Town of Aurora on October 8, 2017. Officers found more than 1/8 ounce of cocaine hidden in the defendant’s waistband.

Jefferson, a prior violent felony offender, faces a maximum of 24 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, October 30 at 9:30 a.m.
