UPDATE: Karcz was indicted and arraigned on one count of Assault in the Second Degree on June 24, 2021 before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller. She is scheduled to return on July 29 at 9:15 a.m. She remains released under supervision.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 21-year-old Savannah E. Karcz of Silver Creek was arraigned on Sunday morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Kevin Keane on one count of Assault in the Second Degree (Class “D” felony) and one count of Exposure of a Person (violation).

It is alleged that on Saturday, May 1, 2021, at approximately 9:58 a.m., Buffalo Police officers were blocking the Ring Road entrance to Delaware Park when the defendant attempted to drive around the officer’s parked patrol vehicle. The defendant is accused of exiting her vehicle, hitting the patrol vehicle with her hands, and removing her shirt to expose her breasts. It is further alleged that the defendant yelled at the officer through a bullhorn. When the officer attempted to move the object away from his face, the defendant allegedly struck him in the left side of the head with the bullhorn. The officer was taken to ECMC for pain and swelling to his head.

Karcz is scheduled to return on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. She was released under supervision.

If convicted of all charges, Karcz faces a maximum of seven years in prison.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Lauren M. Creighton of the Felony Trials Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
