Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 22-year-old Tyler Rehrauer, also known as Tyler Lux-Rehrauer, of Springville was arraigned yesterday morning before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on an indictment charging him with one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class “B” felony).

It is alleged that on Monday, December 7, 2020, at approximately 2:20 a.m., the defendant and the victim were involved in a physical altercation outside the defendant’s home on Greenwood Place in the Village of Springville. The victim, 43-year-old Patrick Flynn, was critically injured in the assault. He later died at ECMC. His cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma to the head.

Rehrauer is scheduled to return on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. He remains released on $100,000.00 bail.

If convicted of the charge, Rehrauer faces up to 25 years in prison.

DA Flynn, who is of no known relation to the victim in this case, commends the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for their work in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III of the DA’s Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
