Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 23-year-old Tyler Rehrauer, also known as Tyler Lux-Rehrauer, of Springville was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to a determinate sentence of 8 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.

On Monday, December 7, 2020, at approximately 2:20 a.m., the defendant and the victim were involved in a physical altercation outside of the defendant’s home on Greenwood Place in the Village of Springville. The victim, 43-year-old Patrick Flynn, was critically injured during the fight. He later died at ECMC. The Erie County Medical Examiner’s Office determined that the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.

Rehrauer pleaded guilty, as charged, to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony) on May 17, 2022.  

DA Flynn, who is of no known relation to the victim in this case, commends Detectives Jon Hanna and Cully Ferrick of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office for their work in the investigation.
