Teenager Arraigned for Stabbing Another Teen During Fight in Town of Hamburg

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that a 15-year-old male from Town of Hamburg was arraigned on Monday morning before Youth Part Judge Brenda Freedman on one count of Assault in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felony) and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree (Class “A” misdemeanor).

It is alleged that on Saturday, June 11, 2022, at approximately 7:12 p.m., the juvenile offender stabbed another teen with a pocket knife during a fight on Kennison Parkway near Norton Drive in the Town of Hamburg. The victim, a 16-year-old male, was taken by Lake Shore EMS to ECMC to be treated for injuries to his torso and head.

The juvenile offender is scheduled to return on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. for a case review. He was released to the custody of his parents.

DA Flynn commends the Town of Hamburg Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Denise A. Herman of the Felony Trials Bureau.  

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
