Buffalo Man Admits to Sending Sexually Explicit Messages to Underage Victim

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 43-year-old Francesco Maccarrone of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to one count of Disseminating Indecent Material to Minors in the First Degree, a Class “D” felony. The defendant pleaded guilty to the highest possible charge. 

The defendant admitted to sending sexually explicit messages to an underage female victim in the City of Buffalo. At the time of the incident, the defendant coached girls basketball and soccer.

Maccarrone faces a maximum of 7 years in prison when he is sentenced on 5/30 at 9:30 AM.  He will be required to register with the NYS Sex Offender Registry.

DA Flynn commends Detective Mark Costantino of the Buffalo Police Department Sex Offense Squad for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Katharine S. Lavin of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
