Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old Joseph Aronica has been arraigned by State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on an indictment charging him with one count of Arson in the Second Degree and two counts of Arson in the Fourth Degree.

On November 28, 2017, the defendant allegedly set a fire on the second floor of his East Delevan Avenue home. The fire spread, causing damage to neighboring homes and displacing several residents.

Aronica was remanded without bail. He is scheduled to return to court on Friday, March 2.

The defendant faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted on all charges.

Felony Trials Bureau Chief Paul J. Glascott is prosecuting the case.

As are all defendants accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
