Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 20-year-old Joseph Lopez of Buffalo has been arraigned by Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka on an indictment charging him with two counts of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the First Degree and one count of Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child in the Second Degree.

Lopez is accused of sexually abusing three separate victims.

Lopez was remanded without bail after being extradited from Puerto Rico.

If convicted, the defendant faces up to 25 years in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek  of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau is prosecuting the case.

As are all defendants accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
