Buffalo Man Sentenced for Possession of Illegal Guns Found Inside His Home and Vehicle

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old Lemuel Figueroa of Buffalo was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice James Bargnesi to 6 months in jail followed by 5 years of probation.  

The defendant was the subject of an investigation by Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit. On Thursday, April 28, 2022, at approximately 12:50 p.m., a search warrant was executed at the defendant’s residence on East Amherst Street in the City of Buffalo. Inside of the apartment, investigators found an illegal firearm. Later the same day, at approximately 1:50 p.m., investigators found the defendant in a parking lot on Milens Road in the Town of Tonawanda. A second loaded, illegal gun was found inside the defendant’s vehicle.

Figueroa pleaded guilty to two counts of Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree (Class “D” felonies) on August 4, 2022.

DA Flynn commends the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics and Intelligence Unit for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Anthony F. Perna of the Felony Trials Bureau.
