Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 24-year-old Torrie Jones of Buffalo was sentenced yesterday morning before Erie County Court Judge Susan Eagan to 15 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. He was sentenced today as a second felony offender.

On April 19, 2021, the defendant intentionally fired numerous shots at the victim with an illegal gun. The incident occurred as the victim was sitting inside of his vehicle at the corner of East Delavan Avenue and Pansy Place in the City of Buffalo. The victim suffered injuries to his arm and chest.

Jones pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree (Class “B” violent felony), the highest charge in the indictment against him, on January 28, 2022.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Rebecca L. Schnirel of the Homicide Unit.
