Buffalo Woman Indicted for Fatally Shooting Another Woman in City's Lasalle Neighborhood

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 30-year-old Jasmine M. Craig of Buffalo was arraigned yesterday afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case on an indictment charging her with one count of Murder in the Second Degree (Class “A-I” felony).

It is alleged that on August 22, 2022 at approximately 12:35 a.m., the defendant intentionally shot the victim in the head. The victim was found outside of her residence on Berkshire Avenue near Parkridge Avenue in the City of Buffalo. The victim, 30-year-old Lameshea Sanders, died at the scene.

Craig is scheduled to return on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at 9:30 a.m. for a pre-trial conference. She continues to be held without bail.

If convicted of the charge, Craig faces a maximum sentence of 25 years to life in prison.

DA Flynn commends the Buffalo Police Department Homicide Squad for their work in this investigation.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III of the Homicide Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
