Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 43-year-old Donald Clark of Buffalo was sentenced today as a 2nd Violent Felony Offender by Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio to 5 years in state prison and 5 years post release supervision for his plea conviction to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a class D violent felony.

On May 20, 2017, Buffalo Police 911 received an anonymous call, reporting that a man pointed a gun at a female motorist. The caller provided a description of the defendant as well as a license plate number.

Within minutes, a Buffalo Police patrol officer located the vehicle on Bailey and Connelly Avenues, and issued a traffic stop. The defendant was ordered out of the vehicle, and officers recovered a loaded .38 special revolver from the defendant’s waistband.

DA Flynn commends Lt. Mitch Thomas and the other Buffalo Police officers involved for their thorough investigative work.

Assistant District Attorneys Ryan D. Haggerty and Lauren Nash of the DA’s Tactical Prosecution Unit as well as Assistant District Attorney Alicia M. Lilley of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau prosecuted the case.
