Registered Sex Offender Pleads Guilty to Sexually Abusing Juvenile Victim

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 31-year-old Lavon Dean of Cheektowaga pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree, a Class “D” violent felony. The defendant pleaded guilty on January 15, 2020.

On December 7, 2018, the defendant subjected a juvenile female victim to sexual contact by forcible compulsion at a location in the Town of Cheektowaga. The defendant was known to the victim.

Dean faces a maximum of 7 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, April 3, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. 

DA Flynn commends Detective Hockwater of the Cheektowaga Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Louis Mussari of the DA’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Unit, Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Fioravanti of the DA’s Justice Courts and Assistant District Attorney Cathleen Roemer of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
