Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 75-year-old Tiberiu V. Sfintescu, also known as Vali Sfintescu, of Williamsville was sentenced this morning before Town of Tonawanda Court Justice Daniel T. Cavarello to a determinate sentence of 45 days in jail. The defendant will be required to report to the Erie County Holding Center on Monday, August 8, 2022.

On May 27, 2020, at approximately 11:30 a.m., the defendant attempted to forcibly touch the intimate parts of a female patient during an appointment at his dental office on Greenhaven Terrace in the Town of Tonawanda.

Sfintescu pleaded guilty to one count of Attempted Forcible Touching (Class “B” misdemeanor) on May 2, 2022. As part of the plea, the defendant sold his dental practice and voluntarily surrendered his license to practice dentistry in New York State.

Today, Judge Cavarello issued a final order of protection on behalf of the victim.

DA Flynn commends the Town of Tonawanda Police Department for their work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Kranitz McPhee of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
