Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 54-year-old Robert S. Riggs of West Seneca was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges to 6 months in jail and 10 years of probation.

Between December 1, 2010 and January 31, 2011, the defendant subjected the juvenile victim to sexual contact by forcible compulsion. The crime occurred at a location in the Town of West Seneca.

Riggs pleaded guilty to one count of Sexual Abuse in the First Degree (Class “D” felony) on July 7, 2022.

A final order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim for the next 10 years.

DA Flynn commends Assistant Chief William Leitzel of the West Seneca Police Department for his work in the investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Kranitz McPhee of the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Bureau.
