Erie County Department of Public Works will mill and overlay Bayview Road

Erie County, NY – At their June 18, 2020 legislative session, the Erie County Legislature unanimously approved a resolution that included mill and overlay projects in several municipalities.  Bayview Road, between Big Tree and South Park, is on the schedule to have the top layer of pavement removed and a new layer applied this year.

Erie County Legislator John Gilmour, who represents Hamburg in the Legislature said, “Our roads are important assets to Erie County, and I’m grateful we were able to prioritize these important projects with the Department of Public Works. Our strong financial position means that even in years like this where funding is an issue, we still have the capabilities of getting things done that our residents need.”

The project is expected to cost nearly $300,000 to complete and will span almost one mile of roadway. Additional information or updates can be obtained from the Department of Public Works website at www.erie.gov/dpw.
