Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently announced primetime funding for summer youth programs throughout Erie County. Primetime funding is made possible through New York State Aid dollars and is given to qualifying organizations that provide recreational activities in an adult supervised environment for kids during summer recess months.
The organization receiving primetime funding for summer youth programs in Legislator Greene’s district include:
-
Boys & Girls Club of the Northtowns, $13,395
Other countywide organizations receiving funding include:
- Girl Scouts of WNY - $8,930
- Greater Niagara Frontier Council/Boy Scouts - 13,395
- Cornell Cooperative Extension - $8930
- YMCA Western NY - $13395
- The Salvation Army - $10,046
- Native American Community Services- $6,681
Legislator Greene said, “This funding is key in helping to make the summer youth program over at the Boys & Girls Club of the Northtowns a success. It is important to keep kids busy when school is out of session. As parents, the last thing we want to hear during the summer months is ‘I’m bored!’ and one of the best ways to avoid that is through summer youth programs.”
