Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently celebrated National Ice Cream Month by presenting a proclamation to Pautler’s Drive-In on Transit Road in East Amherst.

Pautler’s Drive-In first opened its doors in 1958 as a dine-in restaurant and—to this day—has a large selection of foods including its famous hand-pressed Angus burgers and, local favorite, Sahlen’s hot dogs.

Pautler’s is also known for its premium soft-serve custard and Perry’s Ice Cream—which was founded by H. Morton Perry in 1918 in Akron, New York—located in Legislator Greene’s Legislative district.

Legislator Greene named July 18th as ‘Pautler’s Drive-In Day’ to recognize the iconic drive-in.

A customer review on Pautlers’ website said, “We love going to Pautler’s every chance we get. Their food tastes delicious and is always consistent…Our food always comes out hot…We drive from West Seneca for the food we enjoy in the summer months. Keep up the good work! Everyone is so friendly there.”

Legislator Greene said, “No better way to celebrate National Ice Cream Month than by honoring Pautler’s Drive-In! For generations, Erie County residents have been travelling to East Amherst to enjoy a meal and finish off their dining experience with a sweet treat. Thank you to everyone who has been involved with making Pautler’s the success it is today and giving families a nostalgic spot to gather and make even more memories.”
