Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently announced a contract between Erie County and the New York State Department of Transportation for bridge replacements of North French Road over Gott Creek in the Town of Amherst and County Road over Beeman Creek in the Town of Clarence.

This contract provides Federal funds for the engineering design phase of the project. The design firm CHA Consultants, Inc. will provide engineering design services for this project in an amount not to exceed $400,000. The budgets of two pay-as-you-go highway capital projects will be turned into one pay-as-you-go highway capital project.

Legislator Greene said, “These bridges were both built in the 1960s and are in need of some TLC—I am relieved this will be addressed sooner rather than later. When this project is done, both bridges will have new structures which will not be posted for load, will meet design standards and require very little maintenance. This is an important project not only for the residents who live in the area, but also for Erie County as a whole.”
