Erie County Legislator Chris Greene recently celebrated Mom and Pop Business Owners Day by presenting a proclamation to Marve and Lisa Ohlson, the owners of Ohlson’s Bakery in Williamsville.

Mom and Pop Business Owners day is celebrated on March 29th in Erie County. The day is used as an opportunity to celebrate the family-owned businesses that make American communities diverse and vibrant.

Carrying on the family business has a special meaning for owners Marve and Lisa Ohlson—both come from families who own and operate their own bakeries. The baked goods at Ohlson’s bakery are a collection of recipes handed down from Lisa’s granddad, dad and Marve’s parents.

Legislator Greene said, “Thank you to Marve and Lisa for carrying out such a wonderful family tradition. Small businesses are the heart and soul of communities like Williamsville. I encourage everyone who hasn’t paid Ohlson’s Bakery a visit to stop in and try all of the sweet treats they have to offer.”
