Buffalo, NY – During the January 16th session, Erie County Legislator Howard Johnson (D-Buffalo) honored Herbert Bellamy Jr. as the Erie County Legislature’s Citizen of the Month for January. Mr. Bellamy is a lifelong resident of the City of Buffalo and founder of Bellamy Enterprises which has developed high quality senior and affordable housing across the city. He also founded Buffalo’s Black Achievers, Inc. and is currently working on establishing a Black Achievers museum.  

 

“Mr. Bellamy’s devotion to our community is something to truly celebrate. His work as a developer has made housing more affordable and more available for some of our most vulnerable residents. Additionally, his service to the public as Chairman of the Buffalo Sewer Authority board and as a volunteer in various youth organizations is commendable. His lifelong dedication to Buffalo is very much appreciated, and I’m pleased to recognize him for it,” said Legislator Johnson.

 

Herbert Bellamy, Jr. is the son of Herbert Bellamy, Sr. and Irene Parham Bellamy. He is also a dedicated husband and the proud father of three children, who worked previously as an insurance and financial planner for over two decades.
