Forum planned to discuss condition of Maple Road

Erie County Legislator Joseph Lorigo announces that a forum will be held to provide an update on Maple Road and the county’s plans to repair the roadway. The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at the Elma Town Hall, in the courtroom, 1600 Bowen Road, Elma. All are welcome to attend.

“The condition of Maple Road has been a concern for several years and the residents deserve to hear from the county about the plan to address those issues. I have spoken to the administration about this roadway on numerous occasions and continue to be disappointed that a plan is not in place for how and when to address the growing potholes, crumbling shoulders and other failures. However, I am hopeful this meeting is the beginning to solving this problem and I am grateful that the Department of Public Works has agreed to attend the meeting and speak with residents directly,” said Legislator Lorigo.

Aurora Town Supervisor Jim Bach and Elma Town Supervisor Dennis Powers were involved in the coordination of the meeting and have been working with Legislator Lorigo to bring attention to the poor condition of the roadway, especially from West Blood Road to North Street, and to push the County Executive to prioritize repairs.
