Legislator Lorigo’s 5th annual Valentines for Veterans program generates hundreds of cards

Erie County Legislator Joseph Lorigo and several schools in his district are partnering to send a special thank you to local members of the military. Hundreds of Valentine’s Day cards created through the Legislator’s 5th annual Valentines for Veterans program will be delivered to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station before the holiday.

“I am very impressed with the repeated success of the Valentines for Veterans program. We have several boxes of cards ready to be delivered to the air base this week. The students once again went above and beyond to create very heartfelt cards that carry an important message. We can never thank our soldiers and veterans enough, but we certainly can let them know how grateful we are for their service and how much appreciate them,” said Legislator Lorigo.

Legislator Lorigo thanks Colden Elementary School, Queen of Heaven School in West Seneca, Iroquois Central School District’s Elma and Wales Primary Schools, and West Seneca School District’s Clinton Street Elementary School for participating in the 2016 Valentines for Veterans program.

“Our veterans deserve accolades year round. Valentines for Veterans is just another way that we can honor veterans and active servicemen and women, and let them know that we are thinking of them,” Legislator Lorigo added.
