Legislator Lorigo announces free, guided walk at Emery Park

Erie County Legislator Joseph Lorigo announces that a free guided walk will be held on Saturday, June 20 at Emery Park. The walk is part of the county’s “A Walk in the Park” series, sponsored by Erie County’s Parks and Health Departments, as well as the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo, to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. 

 

“Emery Park is truly a unique place in Erie County with nearly 490 acres of land hosting several nature trails. This free guided walk is a great opportunity to learn more and explore Emery Park,” said Legislator Lorigo.  

 

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the field house. The park is located at 2084 Emery Road, South Wales. Visit www.erie.gov/parks for information.

 

The series continues with a walk at Chestnut Ridge Park on June 27. 

 

At these walks attendees will be able to learn more about how to get healthy and stay healthy, and receive health screenings targeting blood pressure and body mass index (BMI). Assorted health education materials and smoking cessation services and products will also be available.
