Legislator Lorigo recognizes West Falls Fire Company on their 100th anniversary

Last week, Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo presented the West Falls Volunteer Fire Company with a proclamation congratulating them for achieving 100 years of service to the community.

Established in 1919, the West Falls Fire Company has provided assistance to the town through several disasters, including the Blizzard of ’77. Additionally, the West Falls Fire Company became a pioneer for female firefighters when they elected their first women to the company in 1978.

“Thank you to each of the volunteers who serve or have served the West Falls Fire Company over the past 100 years,” said Legislator Lorigo.  “We are grateful for these men and women who go above and beyond to protect our community. Their service is worthy of the utmost praise and recognition.”
