Last week, Erie County Legislator Joe Lorigo and Legislature staff members spent a morning volunteering at the FeedMore WNY warehouse in observance of Hunger Action Month.

Hunger Action Month, which concluded September 30, is observed both nationally and in Erie County. Members of the Erie County Legislature recently passed a proclamation to recognize Hunger Action Month and thank FeedMore WNY for their work to fight hunger throughout the region. Their organization provides food to more than 116,000 individuals on an annual basis.

Legislator Lorigo said, “The staff and volunteers at FeedMore do incredible work to fight hunger throughout our community. While Hunger Action Month has ended, there is still a need for donations and volunteers. I encourage everyone to consider helping them out, especially as the holidays approach. Any bit of support goes a long way.”
