Meyers joined at presentation ceremony by Erie County Executive Poloncarz, Supervisor Benczkowski

(Cheektowaga, NY) Erie County Legislator Timothy Meyers joined with by Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz, Cheektowaga Supervisor Diane Benczkowski and Youth and Recreation Executive Director Jillian Gorman-King at a presentation ceremony for a new special needs accessible van.

The van was secured with funds from Erie County that Meyers requested in the 2020 budget process. Obtained and outfitted at a cost more than $50,000, it features an electric ramp, a taller roof for those in wheelchairs, and individual seats, as opposed to rows, which can be configured to the needs of the riders. These elements will enable residents with special needs the ability to travel to appointments and community events.

“I am committed to improving the quality of life for all residents of Cheektowaga,” said Erie County Legislator Timothy Meyers. “This van will enable residents of all ages and abilities to better participate in community events and activities. I want to thank County Executive Poloncarz for working with me on securing and delivering this vehicle to the residents of Cheektowaga.”
