Chairman Mills makes official request for Springville Boston Road to be repaired in 2017

In a letter sent to County Executive Mark Poloncarz on Jan. 24, 2017, Legislature Chairman John Mills requests that Springville Boston Road be made a top priority in the county’s 2017 Road Project List, due to be released in early spring.

“Without a doubt, Springville Boston Road must be repaired this year. I have asked the County Executive and the Department of Public Works to allocate the necessary funding to fix the road. The road is in deplorable condition, one of the absolute worst in the county. The County Executive has ignored this roadway for far too long and it must be addressed this year, no excuses,” said Chairman Mills. “I hear from residents every single day about this roadway. They deserve a safe and reliable road and shouldn’t have to beg for one or feel ignored.”

The letter reads, in part, “The deplorable condition of this road is causing extremely dangerous conditions and costly repairs for both motorists and Erie County.  My office receives calls, letters and email regularly from residents who are frustrated with the continual damage being done to their vehicles and have expressed a real fear that a deadly accident will occur as drivers attempt to avoid potholes and sometimes lose control of their vehicles.” Click here to read the letter.
