County approves site at Chestnut Ridge Park for Blue Star Memorial Marker

Erie County Legislature Chairman John Mills announces that at the Feb. 26, 2015 session the Legislature approved a resolution allowing the South Town Gardeners to place a Blue Star Memorial Marker in Chestnut Ridge Park at the Flagpole Garden (proposed Honor Garden) near the Casino.

“The Erie County Legislature is proud to support the South Town Gardeners’ efforts to install a Blue Star Memorial Marker in Chestnut Ridge Park. We have seen Blue Star Markers placed in several sites throughout Erie County and I believe it is very fitting to add another at this great park to honor those who served, those who are serving and those who will serve in our proud armed forces. I look forward to when the marker will be officially installed and dedicated and hope our many park visitors take a moment to stop at the marker and honor our servicemen and women and veterans,” said Chairman Mills.

The Blue Star Memorial Marker is being funded by the South Town Gardeners.
