Erie County Executive Chris Collins, Legislator John Mills and Parks Commissioner Jim Hornung announced today that the County will once again host its popular “AutumnFest” event in Sprague Brook Park this season. On Saturday, October 1 and Sunday, October 2, more than 45 artists, crafters and food vendors will showcase their work for local residents.
“The tradition of AutumnFest was brought back to Sprague Brook Park last year after a former administration cancelled the popular festival six years ago due to budgetary constraints,” said County Executive Chris Collins. “After a highly successful revival of the event last year, we couldn’t be more thrilled to host it at this beautiful park once again. This is another example of what my administration is doing to improve quality of life for residents. I am confident that the weekend will be an enjoyable one for all who attend.”
“AutumnFest is a wonderful tradition that highlights the beauty of our County Parks,” said Legislator Mills. “This year’s AutumnFest promises to be better than ever before and I encourage families to come out and enjoy all that Sprague Brook Park has to offer.”
“Sprague Brook Park is one of the most beautiful County parks in the fall, and last year’s successful event proved that the setting is a perfect one for this festival,” said Parks Commissioner Jim Hornung. “We’re thrilled that we would bring this tradition back for Erie County residents.”
AutumnFest will also feature hayrides, pumpkins and plenty of fall decorations. Those who are camping in the park that weekend may take a hayride from their campsite to the festival.
Sprague Brook Park is located in Town of Concord in southeast Erie County. The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, visit www.erie.gov/parks.
