Legislator Mills announces Angola & Collins Library fundraiser totals

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills is pleased to announce that both the Angola Library and Collins Library did extremely well at their 2015 Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers. Angola set a new record, raising $1,290 and Collins matched its previous record with $1,380.

“I want to thank everyone who attended the fundraisers and for supporting our local libraries. I was pleased to be able to present these donations to the library branches and support their efforts to deliver quality programming and materials to patrons,” said Legislator Mills.

Presentations were held on July 17 at both of the library branches when the donations were delivered.

“Fundraising is not only about money, it is about people.  Our thanks to Legislator Mills for his continuing support and fun fundraisers; they bring people together for a common goal.  We need a handicapped lift to make our community room accessible from the inside of the library.  This donation will bring us closer to the achievement of our goal,” said Mary Truby, Angola Library Director.

“We are so excited to receive these funds, and we can't wait to use them for children's programs. We are starting Lego and Craft Clubs this fall, and also hope to use the money for other special performances for the community,” said Abigail Barten-McGowan, Town of Collins Library Director.

The Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers have raised more than $50,000 for the libraries in Legislator Mills’ district.
