Erie County Legislator John J. Mills is pleased to announce that both the Eden Library and North Collins Library did extremely well at their 2015 Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers. Eden and North Collins both set new records. Eden’s fundraiser netted $1,349, while North Collins raised $1,106.
“We had two outstanding fundraisers for Eden and North Collins. While rain threatened early on, it cleared in time for the North Collins event and we had a great crowd gather. The Eden event is truly becoming a highlight of the summer for that community with a lot of new faces this year,” said Legislator Mills. “Many thanks to everyone who supported the library fundraisers and as a result, I was able to deliver the largest donations to date for both the Eden and North Collins libraries.”
Presentations were held on Aug. 7 at both of the library branches to deliver the donations. With this year’s donations, Eden’s total in four years comes to $4,477 and North Collins’ is $3,946.
Legislator Mills presented the Eden donation to Library Director Joyce Maguda, Eden Library Board Treasurer Bettyann Neifer and Library Board Vice President Phil Muck.
"We are very grateful to Legislator Mills for his continued support and generosity. Through these funds we were able to complete a beautiful four-panel mural earlier this year, entitled ‘The World We Live In’ by local artist Mary Ellen Bossert,” said Maguda.
The North Collins donation was presented to Kimberly Nobles, North Collins Library Director.
“We're so appreciative of the work that Legislator Mills and his team put into the hot dog fundraisers every year. It's a great community event and we hope it only continues to grow,” said Nobles.
The Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers have raised more than $56,000 for the libraries in Legislator Mills’ district.
