Legislator Mills announces free fishing clinic at Chestnut Ridge Park

Legislator John J. Mills reminds residents that the annual free Department of Environmental Conservation/Erie Federation Youth Fishing Clinic will be held June 25.

The clinic is open to the public, and licenses are not required for this event as part of Fishing Weekend in NYS. Adult supervision is required for all participating children, and participants are encouraged to bring their own fishing equipment. Some equipment will be available for use.

“The free clinic is a great opportunity for families to enjoy a day of fishing at Chestnut Ridge Park,” Legislator Mills said. “Register today for this great event and spend the day fishing at the County’s most picturesque lake.”

The clinic will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 25, at Chestnut Ridge Park Lake, on Chestnut Ridge Road in Orchard Park. The Erie County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs will sponsor a Sahlen’s backyard barbecue lunch at noon. Following lunch a raffle will be held and 50 rod and reel combination poles will be given away.

To register, call the East Aurora Boys & Girls Club at 652-4180. Space is limited to 125 youths (15 and younger).
