Legislator Mills announces free, guided walk at Chestnut Ridge Park

Erie County Legislator John Mills announces that a free guided walk will be held on Saturday, June 27 at Chestnut Ridge Park. The walk is part of the county’s “A Walk in the Park” series, sponsored by Erie County’s Parks and Health Departments, as well as the Wellness Institute of Greater Buffalo, to promote an active and healthy lifestyle. 

 

“This is the final walk of the spring 2015 Free Guided Walks in County Parks series and I believe the best was saved for last. Chestnut Ridge Park is an absolute gem with great views and wonderful trails to explore. Please remember to always use caution when enjoying the parks,” said Legislator Mills.

 

Registration begins at 9 a.m. at the casino. The park is located at 6121 Chestnut Ridge Road, Orchard Park. Visit www.erie.gov/parks for information.

 

At these walks attendees will be able to learn more about how to get healthy and stay healthy, and receive health screenings targeting blood pressure and body mass index (BMI). Assorted health education materials and smoking cessation services and products will also be available.
