Held at the five public and community libraries in his district, Legislator Mills sells hot dogs and sausages and all proceeds benefit the libraries.

“During the past few years these have been great events and through the support of the community we have raised more than $17,000. That is a testament to the people in this community,” Legislator Mills said. “I invite everyone to come out to one of the Hot Dog Roasts to enjoy family fun activities and visit their local library.”

Legislator Mills will again be selling hot dogs for $1, and Italian sausage with peppers and onions for $2; both meals include a bottle of ice cold Mayer Brothers Spring Water.

This year’s Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers will be held on the following days:

  • 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, June 4 at the Aurora Town Public Library, 550 Main St., East Aurora.
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 18 at the Town of Collins Public Library, 2341 Main St., Collins.
  • 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 4 at the Hulbert Library of the Town of Concord, 18 Chapel St., Springville.
  • 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19 at the Orchard Park Public Library, 4570 S. Buffalo St., Orchard Park.
  • 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 20 at the West Falls-Colden Community Library, 1966 Davis Road, West Falls.

The events will be held rain or shine.

The Aurora Town Public Library Hot Dog Roast will kick off this year’s schedule with some great events. The library will host Mr. J and his family magic show, “Tons of Fun,” at 1 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the final day of the book sale will be held where a bag of books will cost $6.

“The Legislator Mills Hot Dog Roast has grown to become a wonderful annual event which really helps to raise much needed funds to support the library.  We’ll have plenty going on during the roast this year, as well, to make it a fun outing for the whole family,” Library Director Robert Alessi said.
