Legislator Mills announces Pothole Hotline, email

Erie County Legislator John Mills announces that Erie County’s Department of Public Works has added an email for residents to report a pothole. The email is in addition to a complaint tip line, (716) 858-7966, where residents can leave a voicemail with a complaint.

Recently, in response to a request from the Legislature questioning the availability of a pothole hotline for residents, the tip line information was posted to the county website.

“Our number one priority heading into the spring needs to be working on our roads. Erie County residents should not have to drive expecting they will need to weave their way through potholes and craters. I’m glad that at my urging a pothole tip line and email complaint line was made public. This will streamline requests directly to the Department of Public Works and offer residents direct access for reporting road complaints until full repairs can be done when the construction season starts,” said Legislator John Mills.

Residents who want to report a pothole or poor road condition can call (716) 858-7966 and leave their complaint or email: potholes@erie.gov. Both points of contact were just recently added to the county’s website, and Legislator Mills believes that will make it easier for residents to find the contact information.
