Legislator Mills announces Sibley/Genesee/240 intersection in Concord will be studied, safety improvements to be proposed

Erie County Legislator John Mills announces that the Legislature has approved funding for safety improvements at the intersection of Sibley Road, Genesee Road and NY 240 in the Town of Concord. With the Legislature’s approval at the May 12, 2016 session, the County’s Department of Public Works will enter into agreement with the New York State Department of Transportation to address issues at that intersection.

“The intersection of Sibley, Genesee and Route 240 is poorly designed and puts motorists at risk of an accident. There are several issues to look at, including compromised driver visibility. I am pleased that this project is moving forward and look forward to seeing the proposed remediation to improve safety at that intersection,” said Legislator Mills.

Following this year’s study of the intersection, Legislator Mills anticipates changes would begin being made in 2017.
