Legislator Mills to discuss County issues at Evans Town Board meeting

Erie County Legislature Minority Leader John J. Mills will attend the Evans Town Board Meeting on Wednesday, March 7 to highlight County issues and share information on items concerning residents in Evans. Minority Leader Mills will be available at 6:30 p.m. and stay for the duration of the meeting to talk with residents and answer any questions they may have.

“My new district is the largest geographically, approximately one-third of the landmass in Erie County. In order to reach residents of every boundary, I have been touring the district to meet with residents in their hometowns. Last month I attended the Sardinia Town Board meeting and thought the venue offered a great setting for sharing of information. There are a lot of issues before the County that residents need to be aware of and I am looking forward to discussing them in detail,” Minority Leader Mills said.

Among the topics Minority Leader Mills plans to discuss are infrastructure repairs and County finances.

Throughout the year, Minority Leader Mills will be available to meet with residents at Town and Village Board meetings. He is also available to meet individually with residents by appointment.

Minority Leader Mills, along with his colleagues in the Minority Caucus, closed District Offices in 2010, saving taxpayers thousands of dollars annually. Through outreach programs, the Legislators are much more accessible, meeting at times and locations that are convenient for constituents.

In addition to being the largest district in square mileage, Minority Leader Mills’ also represents the most residents and his district includes 14 municipalities, which makes it all the more important that Outreach Programs are scheduled, giving residents an opportunity to discuss county issues without traveling great distances.
