Erie County Legislator John J. Mills, R-Orchard Park, announces a free guided walk in Chestnut Ridge Park will be held on Saturday, Oct. 22. The purpose of the program is to encourage residents to be more active and healthy.
“This has been an amazing fall season for enjoying the outdoors and perfect conditions for Erie County’s Be Active Walks in the County Parks program. This Saturday’s walk at Chestnut Ridge Park is a great opportunity to enjoy the fall foliage and the park’s natural beauty,” Legislator Mills said.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. at Martin Lodge followed by the walk at 9:45 a.m.
Be Active Erie County! is a series of guided walks for all ages in beautiful County Parks. At these walks attendees will be able to learn more about how to get healthy and stay healthy, and receive health screenings targeting blood pressure and BMI. Assorted health education materials and smoking cessation services, products, and cessation program enrollment is available at each walk.
