Erie County Legislator John J. Mills, R-District 13, announces that the next free spring guided walk in a County park will be held this Saturday. The purpose of the program is to encourage residents to be more active and healthy.
“These walks were well attended last year and walkers were able to enjoy the County’s jewels, its parks,” Legislator Mills said. “This is a great effort to promote healthy family fun and learn more about how to stay healthy.”
Registration for all walks begins at 9 a.m. onsite, followed by the walk at 10 a.m.
The final two walks of the season will be held on the following days:
- Saturday, June 11 at Emery Park, 2084 Emery Road, South Wales. Meet at the Fieldhouse.
- Saturday, June 18 at Isle View Park, 796 Niagara Street, Tonawanda. Meet at Gazebo 2.
At these walks attendees will be able to learn more about how to get healthy and stay healthy, and receive health screenings targeting blood pressure and BMI. Assorted health education materials and smoking cessation services, products, and cessation program enrollment are available at each walk.
