Erie County Legislator John Mills was presented with the Erie County Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs ‘Legislator of the Year’ Award at the Hamburg Fairgrounds Friday afternoon.

Legislator Mills has been a longtime supporter of the Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs and its programs, including serving on the Erie County Fisheries Advisory Board.  Legislator Mills also strongly advocated for funding from New York State to repair the Sturgeon Point Marina in the Town of Evans. The ‘Legislator of the Year’ Award was last given to Assemblyman Dick Smith who represented Hamburg roughly 20 years ago.

“I am honored to receive this award and proud to be involved in this outstanding organization,” said Legislator Mills. “Over the years, I have supported many sportsmen’s programs and fought for funding to help them thrive. I look forward to helping them continue the great work they do.”
