Legislator John Mills joined students in the 11th district to make cards for the 8th annual “Valentines for Veterans” program. Each year, legislators collect thousands of valentines and distribute them to the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station and other veterans’ posts throughout Erie County.
“I sought the artistic talent of our local elementary students in creating valentines to honor the men and women who serve or have served our country. We as a community appreciate our veterans and active members of the military very much and it is important to demonstrate that. Letting them know with the gift of a handmade valentine is the least we can do,” said Legislator Mills.
Legislator Mills collected cards from the following schools:
• Colden Elementary
• Eden Elementary
• Eggert Elementary
• Ellicott Elementary
• Grover L. Priess Primary School
• North Collins Elementary School
• Springville Elementary School
• St. Aloysius Regional School
• St. John Vianney School
In addition to handing out valentines at the airbase, Mills delivered cards to the following veterans’ posts:
• American Legion Post 880
• American Legion Post 567
• American Legion Post 431
• The Springville VA Clinic
