Legislators present donation to community library

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills and Legislator Joseph C. Lorigo are pleased to announce that the 9th annual West Falls-Colden Community Library Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser totaled $965 to support efforts to keep the branch open.

“The West Falls-Colden Community Library is very unique in that it does not receive county funding, operating thanks to the generosity of donors, volunteers, and the towns of Aurora and Colden. It is incredible to see how the library has continued to thrive,” said Legislator Mills. “Thank you to everyone who attended this year’s event in August, we had another great sale.”

“Keeping the West Falls-Colden branch open has been a labor of love for the group of dedicated volunteers and board members who have made it their mission to ensure that the greater Colden community has a library. Legislator Mills and I are proud to support the library and its efforts. We had a great crowd at this year’s Hot Dog Road Fundraiser and every dollar helps to keep the branch operating. Thank you to all who supported this year’s fundraiser,” added Legislator Lorigo.

Legislators Mills and Lorigo delivered the 2015 donation to West Falls-Colden Community Library Board President Gloria Potzler, Treasurer John Sacco and Secretary Joanie Long during a presentation held on Sept. 18.  In the nine years that the Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers have been held, they have raised $8,796 to support the library’s mission.
