Pharmaceutical Waste Collection Event - Sept. 26

The Erie County Legislature Majority Caucus announces that a Pharmaceutical Waste Collection Event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 at various sites throughout the county. Residents are welcome to dispose of unwanted or expired prescription or over-the-counter medications, syringes, inhalers, liquids, ointments, patches, etc. However, products that contain mercury or radioactive materials will not be accepted.

Legislator Mills announces Orchard Park Library event raises $1,305

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills is pleased to announce that the 9th annual Orchard Park Library Hot Dog Roast Fundraiser totaled $1,305 to support the library’s efforts to provide quality programming and materials for patrons.

Bills fans reminded Lake Avenue is closed

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills reminds those traveling to Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 13 for the Buffalo Bills’ home opener that Lake Avenue in Hamburg/Orchard Park is closed from five corners to Abbott Road for road reconstruction.

September 2015 Column - Library fundraisers support improved programs and building upgrades

It is hard to believe that it’s been nine years since I first had the idea for the Hot Dog Roast Fundraisers to benefit the libraries in my district. At first, they were very modest events, especially when compared to what they are today. This past year most of the libraries set a new record, hosting exceptional events.

Legislator Mills announces Concord Library surpasses $10,000

Erie County Legislator John J. Mills is pleased to announce that with this year’s total, his hot dog roast fundraisers have raised more than $10,000 for the Concord Library. The 2015 event, held July 16, was a complete sellout and raised $1,488.
